8×8+8−8 is a series of 64 x 6-line word collages corresponding to one of the 64 hexagrams of the I-Ching (Book of Changes).

 

Each word collage was randomly assigned one of the 64 hexagrams over the course of 64 hours.
Each hexagram is a series of 6 lines consisting of 2 trigrams.
Each trigram is a series of 3 lines with 8 possible combinations. 
A broken line/yin (--) or a solid line/yang (-).

 

The word collages were created from  randomised phrases and words encountered during phase 1 of the ███ YEAR experiment; excerpts from a dream manual, mistranslations from technology, headlines, advertising, found texts, sign posts, overheard conversations and personal reflections.
